Really honest book that was a great read It s not the gospel of psychotherapy as some people allude but it s definitely relatable and honest which is empowering and freeing Was worth reading. Good concept and so true in real life.I use the tests for husband and wife with clients. The first Chapter gives all you need to know and the rest of the book is just case studies that back up the concept.Worth buying for the tests and the first chapter. Oh how we humans can carry such crippling thoughts and behavious until carefully and precisely unpicked by a humane psychologist Ever thankful for being the fly on the wall whilst the life dialogue of many clients is tastefully written so we can learn and understand ourselves. Brilliant book, absolutely enjoyable read It is funny, sad, uplifting, heartbreaking, everything The material is not light, on the contrary it is packed with deep thoughts and life lessons yet it reads so easily I flew through this book in hours, I only wish it had lasted longer. The collection ofabsorbing tales by master psychotherapist Irvin D Yalom uncovers the mysteries, frustrations, pathos, and humor at the heart of the therapeutic encounter In recounting his patients dilemmas, Yalom not only gives us a rare and enthralling glimpse into their personal desires and motivations but also tells us his own story as he struggles to reconcile his all too human responses with his sensibility as a psychiatrist Not since Freud has an author done so much to clarify what goes on between a psychotherapist and a patient The audio version of the book includes an exclusive interview with Dr Yalom
